I was all ready to go for my walk this morning. I stepped out of my nice warm bed and stepped on something warm and squishy!
My daughter.
She was laying on the floor with her pillow and blanket and now I've woken her up. She had a bad dream and I was sleep so well that I couldn't hear her when she came in.
Poor baby.
TOM was also around and he debilitates me. I hate this. I wish I knew a way to make his visits less uncomfortable and devastating to my diet and the number on the scale. I suppose I should be careful what I wish for because I fear MENopause is right around the corner here.
How do you handle PMS and all the crap that comes with it? Is there a magic pill I can take?
Honestly I take daily anxiety pill which helps a lot with that one particular week. But I still can't shake the munchies. I've been STARVING this week!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have no words of wisdom for dealing with TOM. That is when I am at my worst in regards to eating. The only thing I have really found that works is just to simply not have any sweets or temptations in the house during that time, increase my water intake and I try my hardest to get some extra miles in. All of those things are easier said that done.
ReplyDeleteAnd, honestly, if I do cave and give in to the cravings, then I just let it go. It happens and might as well just let it be water under the bridge.
I'm going to investigate the Extended cycle pill - purely because of cycling. For my big race I could end up being flat bang in the middle of TOM and it wont be fun spending 5 hrs on the saddle...going to make an app with GP and see what she recommends. This 21 days off, 7 days off and of those 21, 7 - 10 days can be PMS - it's frustrating.

I used to have horrible PMS symptoms when TOM showed up. I've found though, that getting rid of nearly all processed foods, switching to a cleaner diet starting green smoothies and totally eliminating HFCS has completely changed my experience. Now, TOM actually sneaks up on me because I don't have any of the normal symptoms in the days beforehand.
ReplyDeleteAfter about 3 months of diligent primal living, my PMS is 70% better and my cramps are pretty much a non-event. It is a way of eating that takes near 100% dedication but the health results are a total game changer.
ReplyDeleteAunt Flo has been less of a pain for me since I cut out processed foods and overload on water. Still lost while she was visiting and cramps werent as bad.
ReplyDeleteI have not tried it, but I have been told that more calcium in your diet during PMS is helpful for mood swings, cravings and the like. A good glass of milk does a body good, right? :)
