Are you being consistent?

Last week was kind of tough. I was plauged with migraines so my only REAL workout was last Monday. It was a great one....my furthest yet! I was so proud of myself and felt great afterward.

So here it is Monday again and I'm raring to go. And my legs feel like they are filled with sand and I'm walking through mud. I was so irritated with myself and my body. I felt like all of my hard work the last few weeks was ruined in 6 short days.

I forced myself to keep going and around 1.25 miles...I caught a second wind and I was able to complete my workout with a new farthest distance of 2.06 miles and I even ran a little bit during that burst of energy!

I can't let this happen again! I must be more consistent and that is going to be a challenge since I'm going on vacation next week. However, we've rented a house on a lake and I'm hopeful that I can get up before my family a few times and get in a workout.

Are you being consistent?

Part of staying consistent for me...is being motivated. I'm motivated by so many of the folks that blog about their journey and I love finding new blogs to read. Over the weekend, I found out (on twitter) about FITROLL. It's a blog roll of fitness blogs and you can add your fitness blog and find other's to keep you motivated. Sounds great right?

Go HERE and find out the details! See you on the FitRoll!

  1. I'm pretty consistent, but only on an inconsistent basis.

  2. I try! My problem is when others I run with are not consistent. I can't seem to make myself go without someone else! Lame really.

  3. If I am not consistent, things go downhill for me!

Last week, I wasn't as consistent as I would have liked. (Must have been an off week for us, LoL)

So happy that you finished your workout and with a new farthest distance! Isn't it a great feeling?!? I know when I don't feel like exercising but I force myself into it, I always feel amazing at the end.

Hope you have a wonderful week! Here's to be consistent! :D

  4. I definitely need to work on being consistent. I do really good Mon - Fri, but my consistency goes out the window on the weekend.

Thanks for the reminder to be consistent. No pain, no gain!!

  5. I figured out something yesterday that really helped me get over a hurdle. If my little one is having a rough morning or if we are busy with other things, then I don't get out for my usual walk. So last night I went for an evening walk by myself. I almost never go for an evening walk by myself and it was just what I needed to do to still get my exercise in. I also really appreciated my alone time and walked further and faster than I normally would. YEA ME!! :) So, I was able to be consistent by being not consistent. ;)

  6. Unfortunately I'm not consistent either. With my running it goes well, I go three times a week as planned but besides that I intended to go to the gym twice a week for Pilates and yoga and in the last 4 weeks I went once!

Like you I'm going on holiday next weekend but only for 5 days and since we've got one bag together I can't take my running shoes with me but I made a promise to myself I will try to be consistent as soon as I got back!

  8. Love the thought on consistency. Too bad I am not being consistent right now. I had a great two weeks and then (just as my hubs says I always do) I stopped being so diligent. Thanks for posting the thought, so that I can mull it over and find myself some motivation.

  9. I am consistent too, and I'm nervous about being at the beach all week next week. But I'll bring my adorable bag of snacks, go to the gym there and walk a lot. I will miss my recumbent bike desperately, but we have to have plans that fit into our lives. So I wish you luck and myself luck in adapting next week. It even makes me feel thankful because I'll be happy to go home. :)
