Week 19...More To Love

Welcome to the 19th (completed) week of Extreme Makeover: ME Edition hosted by the incredible Amber Filkins!

Let's weigh-in...

Before Vacation: 207 pounds
This week: 209 pounds

Gain.....2 pounds

I know the reason for the two pounds. Part of it is my fault and part of it is TOM's. TOM is due to arrive sometime today and he sent his buddy MIGRAINE ahead as a warning. The other reason...2 lbs of red licorice. I was in a gas station in Iowa getting juice for the kids and water for me and hubby when they had these large bags 2 for $3. I love licorice. I was only going to buy one bag (for the trip home) but the cashier talked me into the second one.

I'm pretty proud of myself. I did much better than I expected on my vacation. If you want to read all about it click HERE. I was stressed out because my family (sister, parents) is about to fall apart and my husband and his family were bickering. But I didn't let it effect me (until I saw the licorice).

I talked last week (my post was late...no internet) about an incident with some pancakes. I didn't want to eat bacon and pancakes, I wanted a salad and a big fight ensued. It made me realize how things can fall apart when you don't have the support you need. I know that I drank a lot more wine last week than I needed to. But it was how I was copeing with the situation.

I wish that I had stayed active while on my trip. There were so many times that I wanted to go walk but it wasn't convenient and now I'm having trouble getting started again. Of course TOM is also to blame for that.

The Plan for Week 20:
Friday ~ Walk
Saturday~ Walk
Sunday~ Off
Monday~ Walk
Tuesday~ Walk
Wednesday~ ZUMBA
I also need to start taking my vitamins again.

If you need a pep talk this morning...READ THIS.

Did you watch More to Love last night? I wasn't going to but nothing else was on while waiting for After The Final Rose to come on. I won't be watching it again. I don't understand why it was important to show their WEIGHT and HEIGHT on the screen. This is a show about overweight people finding love. We KNOW they are overweight...why does it matter what the numbers are? It's not a weight loss show. I was turned off by it. What are your thoughts?

  1. Yay, a fellow Zumba girl!

I did not watch More to Love last night and after reading your comment, I won't be tuning in. I agree with you completely--what the heck good does it do to show height and weight? I mean, come on!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your supportive comment this morning--I really appreciate it. I love your blog so much that you're about to have a new follower. :-)

  2. I'm glad that you didn't do too bad on vacation. I haven't weighed in after my vacation yet (that is over my lunch) but I am pretty sure that I gained. It's ok though, because I'm back to the grind this week! Everyone deserves to not have to worry over vacation. Have a great week!

  3. Hmmmmm... you gained two pounds.

Hmmmmm... you ate a two-pound bag of licorice.

Let me put on my Sh*tlock Holmes hat and see if I can help you figure out where the gain came from...

Seriously, vacation is tough for everybody. Shake it off and hop back on the wagon. There's plenty of room... (lots of folks have been falling off lately)

  4. Have a great week next week!!! I did watch More to Love, I was looking forward to it because I have been plus size all my life and thought, finally a show with curvy women, but wont watch again. I dont think its fair that they have to have there stats on like that, so dissapointing!!

  8. Hi Connie!
Two pounds is not bad after a big vacation and with your visitor coming on. I love licorice too. Have you ever been to Cabela's? It is the only place that I have found that sells the most wonderful licorice EVER! It's cinnamon flavored and out of this world.

Good plan for next week - you will kick those extra pounds to the curb!

    XOXO

  10. Hey Connie! Don't beat yourself up over the 2 lbs, you did great for being on vacation! I am hoping to not gain much on my own vacation this weekend!

  11. 2 pounds on vacation isn't much so I think you did very well!

I can't see this show because it's not aired in Holland but I've just read another blog about it and I think it's a stupid show as I may say so :) Exploitation of big girls is my opinion after reading the blog.

  12. I haven't seen it yet though I do think I recorded it on DVR. I'll check it out though I don't have very high expectations for it.

  13. Bummer on the 2 pounds. Honestly, it could have been worse. You were on vacation. I'm sorry the family was crummy. It is awful to not have supportive family. I cannot believe that!

I love red licorice too. :)

And yes, do jump back on the train. Woo woo!! :)

Oh ya, also. More to love. I watched that show with hubby last night. Also b/c nothing was on while waiting for The Bachelorette. We also said what the heck!? on posting the weight. I didn't like that. Also, yes big people need love too. I don't have anything against overweight people. {I guess I do when people are morbidly obese, have no regard for their health, and make their kids overweight by passing on poor eating habits}. Anyways, as I was saying: I'm not so sure on promoting overweight lifestyles on national television. Because the entire premise of the show is that everyone on it is overweight. Why not add a couple overweight people, or at least NORMAL people on to the regular bachelor/bachelorette shows??

  14. Sorry about the weight gain, but considering the vacation, not too shabby! I love licorice too!! Yummy! Which reminds me I have a large container of it in the kitchen!

  15. 2 lbs is awesome - I usually gain 5 on vacation :) and if you blame it on TOM, you can say you didn't gain any - it's just water weight! I am jealous of your bags of licorice - so unkind of you not to share :)

  16. Oh vacations.. they get the best of us.
Yeah, I haven't seen that show either, but I have read a lot on it. I don't understand why the post their weight... it's not like they do that on other shows like the bachelor!

  17. You should be proud. Only two pounds on a vacation - girl, that's great. Vacations are hard... any time you're out of your routine (especially on the road) and plus if your TOM is on it's way... who knows what the scale will say next week. Sounds like you managed just fine. :-)

I haven't seen that show, but WHATEVER! I agree with the previous comment - they don't put the weight of the girls on the other dating shows... why this one? That's nuts!
