Day 15: Pity Party *EDITED*

Today's Weight:    200.4
Yesterday's:         200.2
GAINED   :            .2  pounds
Total Released:      12.2 pounds

Week One Released:     9.2 pounds 4.4 %
Week Two Released     3    pounds 1.4%

EDITED:  I just discovered the cause of my .2 gain.  TOM just showed up.  Early.  At least that seems like more of a reasonable reason and also explains why I was craving chocolate like a crazy person yesterday.

I've been up against this wall before.  It's the reason I decided to do this diet to begin with because I could never get below 200 pounds.  The last time I was under was August 30, 2003....the day I met my husband.

The good news is that my sister Bobbi is finally going to do the diet with me.  She starts today so I get to watch her LOAD for the next two days.  Oh Joy!

  1. Are you KIDDING me?! I CANNOT BELIEVE it! I'm sorry. Darn. Do you SWEAR you're not cheating? And that you've had a BM? I need to live closer so I can be your Jillian and train you!

  2. Not Kidding. Not Cheating.

But I ate some tomatoes last week....Problem? Maybe.

Going to find some Buffalo meat to replace the ground beef (97% ) to see if that's the problem.

  3. Not sure if this helps, but this past week I wasn't eating all my WW points and . . . I actually gained weight. Maybe eating a little more would help? Our bodies are so smart, if they think we're starving them they go into hibernation mode and won't release anything.

  4. Your body is likely adjusting. You have lost so much so fast, you body is probably scared that a famine is happening!

Are stalls like this normal for other people following this protocol?

  5. FitMommy is right. Don't despair, your body goes through natural plateaus at every 10% or so of body weight to establish new set points.

Perhaps that is what is really going on. The body doesn't take well to rapid changes in anything. Rapid weight loss is no different.

Likely you'll not only catch up to the pace of loss you were hoping for, but blow past it in short order once you body gets its signals straightened out.

I, too, am hoping for onderland in the next couple weeks and every time the scale only budgets by a fraction, it is disheartening.

    Hang in there!

  6. Cheryl...Some days, I haven't eaten my second fruit because I'm not hungry. So, I think I'm going to make my second fruit my mid-afternoon snack so that I get it eaten.

Fit Mommy...I read this morning that stalls are normal in the second week but they could also be because of something I've eaten that my body doesn't like. I think it *might* be the tomatoes.

Kyle...I agree, my body is probably freaking out a little bit and will adjust. I'm hoping for a breakthrough by MONDAY! Or I'm going to amputate something....

  7. I agree with Cheryl. Dr. Oz said something about that the other day on his show. Our bodies get stingy with our fat if they think they are being starved. Try eating to your limit for the next couple days and see what happens.

  9. Don't forget to factor in hormonal changes we women go thru!! Those cause me to hoard water and water is heavy in the body. Watch you'll release alot all at once. Don't give up!

  10. You and TOM. You seem to use that excuse every month! Come up with a new one for God's sake...

  11. Sorry but I'm still laughing about Jack :)

I have to say I don't notice much when I'm TOM. It doesn't do much for my weight.

Hopefully you'll get below 200 soon but I'm sure you will!

  12. I feel your pain! Trust me! Hang in there ... you WILL get below 200 pounds!!!

180 pounds is the seemingly impenetrable barrier for me.

Over the last three weeks, I've lost and gained the same 3 pounds a zillion times! I've had a calorie deficit every day but one (when I was really, really sick and stayed in bed all day, eating soup and drinking Barq's). Either my thyroid issues are hampering my weight loss or ... the diet is too low-calorie and my body has gone into starvation mode. I've been on hcg 3 months. Maybe I'm getting immune and THAT has put my body into starvation mode. I'm just not sure.

  13. Well I just have to agree with you. TOM is guaranteed monthly - LOL No defying it!! Oh and the chocolate cravings - I soooooooo understand. :-))

Before you know it, you will be below that 200 mark.

  14. Oh my gosh, that sucks! I'm so sorry. Yes, hopefully by Monday!

If it helps, lol, I've been doing the Shred, and I've GAINED 2 POUNDS!! I'm going to change my eating habits too now. I was just cutting back some, but have been eating junk too.

When will someone get smart and make it to where we can eat anything we want and be whatever weight we want??? Come on, smart people!! You can make a car that parallel parks itself but you can't do this!?

  15. At least you know now that TOM was coming to visit, I bet when he leaves you will be another few lbs lower than expected!

  16. I didn't know you'd still have a period since you've receiving HCG. Doesn't your body think your preggers??

You're SO CLOSE- I'm telling you, you'll appreciate it even more when you break through that 200 lb barrier.
